The company
Who you would be dealing with.
Intelligena LLC is a California limited liability company. Everything on this page can be checked against a public filing, and we would rather you did.
Intelligena LLC builds and operates subscription software for independent professionals. We are small, we are funded by the work we do, and we would rather be checkable than impressive.
About Intelligena
Intelligena is wholly owned by Frank Carmody, with no outside investors and no venture terms shaping what gets built or when. That independence is spent on three things: UX fundamentals that are not negotiable — clarity, speed, accessibility, a control that does what it looks like it does — extensive first-hand experimentation before anything ships, and the application of genuinely current AI technology to problems it actually fits, rather than a chat box bolted onto whatever we were already building. Small teams that own their own roadmap are the ones that can hold a line like that.

How we got here
- intelligena.com has been registered to this work since May 2020, and practiceful.com since 2022 — the products on them were built over that time, not assembled for a launch.
- The company was formed in 2026 to hold work that already existed. The intellectual property in every product was assigned to it by its member personally, and the assignment is in the company records.
- Two products are live and onboarding customers by invitation: Yoshuko for independent educators, and Practiceful for therapists, coaches and other solo practitioners.
How the company is paid
- We are paid a monthly subscription by our own customers. That is the whole of it.
- Where our software helps a customer take a payment from their own client or learner, Stripe processes that payment directly into the customer's own Stripe account. We never hold, receive or pay out money belonging to our customers or to the people who pay them.
- We also take a small number of software design and development engagements directly, which is what funded the products.
The full statement, including what we do not do, is on our legal pages.
